Objective

To strengthen and
intensify efforts to disrupt the capacity of terrorist networks to
threaten the ability of individuals to travel and move safely
between and recreate in Member States, by strengthening the
coordination and provision of technical assistance in the
establishment and implementation of and compliance with security
standards and practices, including those related to tourist and
recreational facilities (AG/RES. 2137 XXXV-O/05). |

Description
|
In an effort
to build visitor confidence in the security and safety of the
tourism and recreational services sector and to foster
sustainability and global competitiveness of this critical
sector to the region, the ITRS Project incorporates three
principal elements: the development of tourism and recreational
facility security standards; the introduction of a tourism and
recreational facility security infrastructure compliance code;
and the delivery of certified and specialized tourism and
recreational services sector security training. |

public security and law enforcement officials in all areas directly
and indirectly involved with the security of tourism and
recreational facilities within the Member States. |
